I have my Thinkpad P72 with a 4K screen connected to a Full HD Projector in duplicate mode. With the inteal Nvidia scaling, I am able to run the 4K on Full HD, which works really well.

Unfortunately, when I close my lid on my laptop, the inteal screen goes off (which is good) but it also disables, which makes it impossible to duplicate and scale a 4K picture to FHD. With closed lid, I can’t see the inteal screen in any graphics settings (nvidia or windows) and therefore can’t set it as main screen.

Any idea how to keep the inteal display enabled? Or to force the projector to run a 4k picture scaled to FHD?

I have a brand-new Yoga C930 2-in-1 with a 1TB SSD and 16 GB RAM, which I'd like to run Ubuntu Linux on. I can't manage to boot from a USB (type A) pen drive yet, though.

I managed to enter the BIOS (via this hint) and the "Boot from USB" option is "Enabled". When I exit the BIOS, though, saving the changes, having the USB pen drive plugged-in into the USB-A slot, Windows is booting up just normal. No USB boot happens, no boot menu is shown. Also, the usual pressing of buttons such as F2, F11, F12 or Del doesn't result in anything being shown from the BIOS.

How do I boot from a USB drive then? Obviously, when there is a related option in the BIOS, it should be possible, shouldn't it?

My Lenovo 11e has over the past year lost a lot of its battery power, it used to last over 6 hours every day it now lasts a little over 1. So I got a new battery for it but that only increased the battery life by roughly an hour. Any ideas why this might have happened?

So the f9 key on my lenovo flex 3-1580's built-in keyboard tus off the built-in monitor's backlight while leaving the windows display on. Is there a way I can set up a different keyboard macro, a script I can run from cmd prompt, or some exteal way to trigger this without pressing the key itself? Maybe even simulate the keypress?
